DIRECT RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF DISTRICT JUDGE
LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF ONLINE APPLICATIONS: 21ST OCTOBER, 2020


It is hereby notified that under Article 233 of the Constitution of India read
with the provisions of the Karnataka Judicial Service (Recruitment) Rules, 2004
and Amendment Rules 2011, 2015 and 2016, High Court of Karnataka invites
online applications from eligible candidates for filling up of 30 vacant posts of
District Judges (23 backlog vacancies and 7 fresh vacancies) by direct
recruitment.

QUALIFICATION:

i) Must be holder of a degree in Law granted by a University established by
Law in India;
ii) Must be practicing as an Advocate in the High Court or in a Subordinate
Court on the last date fixed for receipt of applications and must have so
practiced for a period not less than SEVEN years as on such date.
Note: Public Prosecutor/Assistant Public Prosecutor/Government Counsel
in full time employment of the State having not less than seven years of
continuous practice immediately preceding the last date fixed for receipt of
online applications are also eligible for appointment.

Application Last date:

Last date for submission of online    application    21.10.2020 (Till 11.59 P.M.)
Last date for payment of fee    through online    28.10.2020 (Till 11.59 P.M.)
Last date for payment of fee    through Challan    28.10.2020(Till Banks working hours)

Age Limit: 

Must not have attained the age of Forty-Eight years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes and Forty-Five years in the case of others, as on the last date fixed for receipt of online applications.

Note: The maximum age limit is relaxed by three years in case of Ex-servicemen
candidates.

 Fees:

1) Preliminary Examination Fee: The Candidate shall remit an
amount of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only). But, in the case of
candidate belonging to SC/ST/Category-I, the fee payable shall be Rs.250/-
(Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only).


2) Main Examination Fee shall be payable by each candidate who is successful
in the Preliminary Examination and eligible to appear for the Main
Examination immediately within 15 (Fifteen) days from the date of
announcing the result of the Preliminary Examination, failing which, their
candidature will not be considered for Main Examination. The candidate
shall remit an amount of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only). But, in
the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST/Category-I, the fee payable shall
be Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only).


3) Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.


4) Candidates shall appear for the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination
and Viva-Voce at their own cost.


5) Candidates are required to submit their application through Online Mode
only and applications submitted by any other mode will not be entertained.
